Janet began training in aikido in 1996. Following a severe knee injury in 2000, she began a research project to gather data on knee injuries in aikido. She has been active in aikido-l and aikiweb, and is currently training at Ukiah Aikido.

Janet works part time at a non-profit organization as an R.N. Case Manager. She has been married to jazz maven Stuart Kremsky since 1979.

Janet started sewing in 1980 at the Sewing Workshop and studied patternmaking with Simone Sethna. She continues to be both a student and teacher of sewing techniques.

In 2001 Janet started experimenting with designs for aikido weapons bags and baby gi tops. She sews to order in her home studio in inland Mendocino County, and welcomes inquiries about fabrics, designs, features and specs for their custom orders.
